"The Good Son" is about a guy who ends up in a bad situation, and he ends up on death row. The song is kind of a shot at Florida and the way the system works down there.
The last line of the song is "A prisoner stamps another license plate, state of florida PRO LIFE", perhaps highlighting the irony of having both the death penalty and claiming to be "pro life"
